Dr Alexia Casale is a Reader in Writing for Young People at Bath Spa University, and programme leader of the renowned MA Writing for Young People.
Her fourth Young Adult novel will be published in Spring 2025, while her debut adult crime novel is now out from Viking/Penguin Random House, with translated editions available in a range of languages. Her work has been longlisted and shortlisted for numerous awards, including the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Award in the UK and the prestigious Jugendliteraturpeis in Germany. She is also a film & TV script critic, and a consultant in the theatre industry.
Her research interests include internationalising conversations about books and writing for young people, the blurred boundary between fact and fiction, methods to assess creative writing, and the craft of exploring human rights in stories for all ages.
