Having rejected God as the ultimate ruler of the universe, scientists decided it was Laws of Nature that determine the behaviour of all material things – a view they remain committed to today. This is despite the fact that none of them can say what those Laws actually are. They have lots of scientific laws that *describe* regularities in behaviour, but none that clearly *explains* those regularities. For this, they would need the fundamental laws of physics which underpin and explain both General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. Sadly, they are no closer to finding these than they were forty years ago. Is it now time they gave up this search, abandoned their faith in Laws, and instead seek a better explanation for the regularities we find within the natural world?
