The Role of the Human Hand
One of the most extraordinary facts about human beings is how their lives are so fundamentally different from those of their nearest primate kin. The huge gap between us and apes requires some explanation.
The story I will offer is based on two books I published some years ago: The Hand. A Philosophical Inquiry into Human Being Edinburgh Press, 2003 and Michelangelo’s Finger Atlantic Press 2011.
