Prof. Raymond Tallis

Ray is a philosopher, poet, novelist, cultural critic, retired physician, and clinical neuroscientist.

He is author of 39 books on the philosophy of mind, metaphysics, philosophical anthropology, and literary and cultural criticism. For over a decade his ‘Tallis in Wonderland’ column for Philosophy Now discusses philosophical problems for a lay readership.

He has four honorary doctorates from English Universities – 2 for contributions to medical science and two for contributions to the humanities.

He has given talks on BBC Radio 3 and 4. His short drama on the last years of Wittgenstein, was broadcast on Radio 3. In 2009, the Economist Intelligent Life Magazine describe him as one of the world’s leading polymaths.
