Stories are so commonplace that most people never give them another thought or dismiss them as mere entertainment. Yet stories and storytelling are fundamental to all cultures, to a creative human consciousness and play a role in all factors of life. In this talk
I will explore the ways in which they have blossomed into a variety of forms and media, especially in our postmodern age when stories and narratives have become central to philosophical and social concerns. I will even attempt to deconstruct one or two and delve deeper into the why and wherefores of the creative aspects of storytelling, the perceived underlying patterns that seemingly control story fabrication and the role the subject plays in their formation.
